This is sad, but kind of brings up another question, which I don't think anyone on this list can answer:
Is Google really serious about creating a viable ecosystem for developers around Android Market? Or are things considered more or less fine the way they are? Or, to rephrase this slightly differently: what were the expectations of Google's Board of Directors when decided to acquire Android, Inc.? AFAIK, Google makes money primarily from advertising. Getting Android to TVs is very important to support that, also integration with Google mail and other online services (pulls people to G's sites). Is Market a priority in the same way as selling advertising is?
