Why is this a google issue? It sounds like a prime opportunity for you actually. Start a web site, build a ranking of "battery killer" apps, develop a "Battery Friendly Certified by Eli" badge that devs can add to their application, seed all the phone review websites with comments about your "battery killer rating site". Put in some banner ads to recoup bandwidth costs and go. I know I'd point folks to such a site if it had reliable info on what apps to not install if you want your battery to last longer. Or, start threads on the feedback forums of the apps that are offenders if you just want apps you want to use be fixed. Or just use apps from good developers. In particular I'd like google not to "do something about it" because there are applications I'm willing to blow the battery on to make my phone do something I want (for example I like to use one of the GPS map my ride applications to get detailed information about my bike route and store it online as it happens, or play streaming music while connected to the charger in my car.) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.
