Haven't used this, but are you sure this is a feature limited to the Android market? > - House-ads via AdMob that links to apps in the Android Market You could always add in some ads to link to the Amazon market. Either way, I can't see that Amazon can do much about it, although they probably won't like it if they see them during the approval process. > - In-app purchasing that is coming soon on the Android Market Amazon haven't commented on this issue yet. I suspect it's a tricky one, since they don't offer anything similar themselves yet. > - Links to additional content in Android Market from your app You redirect all such links to the Amazon market. Your app won't pass their approval process if they find links of this kind to the Android market. > Are you all having a lot of "if(AmazonMarket)" in your code? I have started maintaining the core of the codebase as a library, and have separate "standard" and "amazon" projects. Initial impression: + Very impressed by the webfront of the amazon appstore and presentation of apps. It is just miles and miles ahead of the Android market. + Being able to contact a living human being and getting a response to issues is a huge boon. Amazon do a good job of making their developers feel appreciated. - The DRM (only releasing Angry Birds Rio to the US pretty much guaranteed that it would be cracked in no time. If, as suggested, it is also poorly implemented, that is just even worse). - US only. I have high hopes for this, though. And hopefully the competition will spur the Android market to become better.
