No worries, I just didn't want it to seem as if I only cared about advancing my views rather than answering the OP's question :-).. I agree that there are IP issues, unfortunately these types of things are very hard for indie developers to deal with, and so I don't have any advice on this issue (for example, hiring a lawyer is probably too expensive for people just making apps on the side...).
