I absolutely disagree with you. The implementation of tabs is terrible in Android. On the iPhone, you can have a complex interface, where each tab can the have a number of different sliding views.
I am unaware of a possibility of doing this with Android, so you're limited to about 5 pages for your app. Some things are better in Android, but tabs are not.
