While you own the phone (and certainly can do whatever you want with
it), you will certainly void the warranty.

I wouldn't expect support from T-Mobile if you hose your device, or
have problems otherwise.

Bottom line, you are free to put whatever software you would like on
the G1 device you own, but understand the risks before you do it.
