Not necessarily the changes, the whole thing. In the case of derived works
(i.e. binaries
since this is the source that is distributed under the GPL by the original
author), you need
to provide *all* the sources that were used to generate the binaries, under
the GPL too, to
comply with the license. So if you just changed the sources to link to your
custom
library, you need to provide the source of your library under the GPL as
well.
On the other hand, this does not cover data at all, and as far as I know,
the Doom original/shareware
levels/data files are not GPL-ed at all and can't be distributed without the
original author's explicit
permission.
