market and it's behaviour is just as I described.

Something is very fishy.
My guess is that Google doesn't really know who has actively installed what
app. So when the numbers seems to low, they randomly add some back to make
everybody happy.
What is really bad about this is the "active install" is used in the market
ranking algorithm. So on the days of "active install tax refund", you'd see the
rankings get a big shake down. Well, this time it moved my app up by 6 places,
so I guess I shouldn't be complaining .....
... but I don't think this is right.

Wouldn't that mean that the percentage will get lower with each update as the
number of users stay the same, but the app is (re-)downloaded. Or are the
redownloads not counted?
From about 6 hours ago to right now the active install percentage of my app
jumped from 23% to 31%. I am wondering why that is? The number of downloads
didn't change all that much, for the sake of this argument is stayed constant.
