just thought i'd chime in here. i like lbcoder's partitioning idea. he
is actually putting forth an idea that sounds somewhat reasonable,
though not without flaw. mark, your handful of comments are useless
and does not help the cause of this thread. neither does yours al.
sure, lbcoder isnt providing any patch...but at least he is giving an
idea. the fact that you claim that his idea is flawed but then to not
provide one of your own, is rather pointless and you should just not
post.

now, as a person with very basic understanding of programming (i
understand the partitioning of the sd card, but i have no idea how to
implement it myself), i have a work-around idea myself: the
application called AppManager (found on the market) enables you to
store the apk's on your sd card, and then install from the sd card at
a later time. now what if you create an app (lets call it ###) that
would automatically detect your least used applications, copy the
apk's to your sd card, and then delete them from your memory, but
leave the icon and name on the phone. ### should ensure that there is
always at least lets say 10Mb of free space. then when you need the
application, when you try to open it, ### should automatically install
the apk from the sd card and there you go. yea it will take an extra 2
seconds to open the app, but it will go unnoticed, and you'll always
have free space on the phone.

let me know what you think. once again, i have very limited knowledge
about what is possible with this phone. but as for now, i'm doing
exactly what i described above...but manually.

i think somebody is gonna get a lot of glory from this one! woohoo.
