Do not confuse the OS underpinnings with the user experience. I agree that the user experience of Android is not presently good for much bigger than a tablet. However, that does not mean the core of Android and the core of Google Chrome OS should not be the same thing (Linux plus Google not-so-secret sauce plus contributions), just with different user environments. Someday, the Chrome OS could even blend in Dalvik and Android apps, after we in the developer community have gotten good at handling multiple screen sizes in our layouts and such. More on this here: http://www.networkworld.com/community/node/43358 Now, it could be that Android and Google Chrome OS *will* share a common substrate and contributor ecosystem, and that was just not obvious from the announcement, but I'm somewhat skeptical that's the case here. One can only hope. -- Mark Murphy (a Commons Guy) http://commonsware.com | http://twitter.com/commonsguy Android 1.5 Programming Books: http://commonsware.com/books.html --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
