I don't know (and can't seem to find) any of the specifics, but you do
keep both the original rom and a debian install. I'm guessing a
dual-boot like affair.

FWIG, TMobile don't really care what you do with the device, so long as
you keep making phone calls with it. People have been re-ROMing WM
devices for years/
