Hello- I have been charged with researching the feasibilty of using Android to provide remote users with applications that keep them updated with certain internal data.
For example, we currently have internal websites on our intranet that we use to provide dashboard reports of products sold, deliveries, etc. This information is generally stored in internal SQL databases and accessed only by internal users of our corporate network. We would like to provide similar reporting applications to Android mobile users, and give them the ability to view corporate data securely while they are outside of the company network. Has anyone done this sort of thing yet? It doesn't seem like we would be the first to want to implement something like this. I would like to hear any feedback or suggestions on how to accomplish it, or any other references or resources available for more information.
