My (real-life) scenario is more about having 2+ similar apps (all good
apps) competing for sales.

You don't need to repeatedly 'buy' 5* ratings, all you need is 3
google accounts. Take 2 minutes in the morning, afternoon and evening
to make sure the top 3 ratings are all 5* probably makes for an
excellent return on your time.
