Sorry, I suppose you must have misunderstood me. I have a Windows app that runs on Windows devices, and an Android app that runs on Android devices. They have rather similar functionality, but are separate beasts. My point was about the development and maintenance process and the apparent need now to generate different executables (APKs) for different distributors whereas I never encountered this hurdle in developing for Windows. Of course, one cannot stop progress. ;-) And yes, Amazon Appstore will survive without me, but not without sufficient commitment from the Android developer community. Best is that they come up with a simple recipe that does not require fiddling with different builds for Android Market and Amazon Appstore when having dependencies on external APKs.
