It would get the ball rolling with developers. After all, the emulator
is terrible, and I can't justify a Xoom for development purposes for
only two (non profit) customers.

I don't know if it will change the situation for consumer purchases of
xoom much. In the long run, yes.

I think an even bigger deal is getting IceCream out. A merged source
tree and a release above beta quality will make a difference for
developers and consumers alike.
