Hmm. . . That explains why there are so many download problems. ;)

The people most likely to complain about the Android Market are
developers. In case you haven't noticed, developers *have* been banned
from the Android Market Forum.

Apparently they didn't like us leaving comments that might make them
look bad to the end users and preferred to send us to one on one
support where they could ignore the comments more effectively.

The true customers of the Android Market are hardware manufacturers,
and it actually is a pretty exclusive group with strict requirements.

In any case, the decisions of one business do not dictate those of
another.

This thread has been pretty good at pointing out the risks of the
method John is using. His customers are using server side resources,
so it is reasonable to block them if needed. On the other hand, I
don't believe that method will actually stop the people from
commenting in the market, nor will it stop them from sending hate
mail.

I do agree with the general sentiment that there are users/customers
not worth having. In addition, the Market comment system is very
skewed toward recent comments, so it only takes three venomous users
who are willing to update their comments every day to bring down
sales.

I for one would like to know more about how to identify users who have
left a comment. I'd simply like to send a message like "Would you like
some help troubleshooting your problem or a refund?" There are
certainly people who will not subscribe to the newsletter, will not
check the app description or updates, will not contact me or the
helpdesk, but they *will* leave a comment in the Android Market. And
their comment is posed as a question, almost as if they expect it to
be a two way conversation.
