I can tell you that it takes a few minutes to start up a new emulator
image on a Pentium M 1.6GHz with 2GB RAM...when the emulator is running
natively on the PC itself (in Ubuntu).

So long as the emulator is continuing to operate (e.g., the shimmer effect
on the silver Android name), I would leave it run for a while longer.

In terms of the CPU utilization, yes, it will run at 100%.
