I have the same question for the Nexus Q. I can find a ton of redundant instructions on how to unlock these devices using fastboot oem unlock. But what I don't know is how or if I can restore the devices to factory conditions and still have access to google play content as if I never rooted them.
I know most devices historically are not re-lockable and once unlocked premium content DRM's don't allow playback or maybe the battery charging in stuck in "safe mode".
