Well, it does :) I've some templates which will use this feature.
Besides, to maintain consistency, I think, that we rather generate it by ourselves.
It is a problem, if all relations will be filled up automatically. Think about bidirectional relationships. So there must be a way to tag this.
Also, what are your thoughts on DAO ?
Do you mean the DAO Functionality of Xdoclet? DAO has been marked as deprecated, so this should not be used for new projects.
Really, is there an alternative to using DAO within XDoclet. Do you know why did the committers come to sucha decision ?
