Exactly, and that's why we have this issue unresolved still.
And I in no way tried to discourage your design, but just make sure
that we discussed all previous work on this, and were sure that we
used some though and alternatives when choosing it.

Well, I couldn't draw it so well in reasonable time, so on my
scale, that pretty much qualifies as "good" ;-). Another one you
posted, triangled and being cover of previously posted Michael Lauer's
work, doesn't lead to such mark - it's pretty simplistic, and pretty
far of visual appeal of Michael's version.

As was pointed out, there were other logo drafts too, but they
should be considered lost by now (one of them I tried to add to
Angstrom wiki, but it was removed from it and later for HH.org wiki
where it was before).

So, on my list, there're 2 candidates:

1. Your compass logo
2. Original Michael's work. He of course don't have time to work on it
now, so someone else should start to like those designs, contact him
regarding his current stance on including them in Angstrom, ask for
vector sources, etc, etc.

I guess, the best thing we can do in our situation is to ensure
that we considered all existing designs, considered implications they
bring to user experience, and make sure we're not lazy/inattentive to
make few relatively small extra steps, which will improve user experience
and extend user base over the following time.

So, if you're sure that you design is good enough for the
purpose, please proceed with it. Leaving this issue open for long more
is to lose this design the same way as the older ones are lost by now.
