That's good enough. Also some automake/autoconf/libtool knowledge [1] would help. > What I lack: > > -Any OS development experience > -Any hardware interaction experience > -SVN/CVS/git experience > -Dev boards > -QEMU experience We all learn new things everyday. There are lots of recipes in oe that need update/test/clean up. And that's where I find myself capable to help with. There are still lots of variables and dep chains that I'm not familiar with in oe and bitbake. But over the time, I feel more and more confident in making changes and learned where the boundary of my knowledge is. I would suggest start reading some bb recipes that your are interested in and referring your questions to oe or poky manual and the mailing list. > -money to invest in learning tools (I have an N810 and two Zaurii to test > with, however) > -most likely everfything else How's the wesnoth.bb that you're working on? Do you want somebody to take a look? I know you are from the pdaXrom background. Cross-compiling adds another layer of complexity during configuring/packaging/testing than on-board compiling. But hopefully, the most difficult things have been taken care of in oe. btw, we definitely need more zaurus testers. > If somebody would point me to some tutorials or where to learn the stuff I > lack (or walk me through it, which is very doubtful), I'll happily do my > best to be "lead dev" for the N810. Device support usually needs kernel knowledge, which I'm lack of. Hopefully, hrw or XorA or Mamona dev will have time to help you through that.
