Hi all: I'm wondering if anyone is watching movies on a Spitz under Angstrom. If so, could you share the mencoder syntax for encoding the movies and mplayer syntax you use for watching them.
So far, I've experienced with all kinds of options, but can't get good quality playback with HQ sound, to be used for watching movies using headphones while on the road. So far the closest I came was resampling to 320x240, but then I can't get mplayer to play fullscreen, since f doesn't resize the resultant video the ways I encoded it and -zoom doesn't seem to work. Does anyone have a good tested solution for watching movies? Is it necessary to go down to 320x240? Is it necessary to prerotate the video and then also not have the display rotated in landscape while watching to save CPU strain (haven't noticed any difference doing this, but remember in Cacko this used to be the way to go)? What's the best mencoder and mplayer syntax to watch movies with good stereo sound (because of the headphones)? Any help is appreciated.
