Try an ipkg udtate; ipkg upgrade and then reinstall e-wm (you have to remove e
dependencies too - elibcore*). That worked for me.

I have tried installing e17, and didn't come across the same bug as
mentioned/closed recently. All seems to install fine. Just that I cannot
actually launch it.
I had a look at the wiki, and whether I do the following or not it doesn't
work:
"NOTE: As of 5-2-2007, Angstrom's ipk for E17 doesn't properly change the
startup scripts. You'll need to open /etc/X11/Xsession.d/98enlightenment and
change

  exec enlightenment

  to

  exec enlightenment_start

Otherwise, E17 will complain about being started with the wrong invocation."

Infact I just get returned to the login screen.

  Any ideas?

  PS Running latest x11

  Macwiz
c860: was proudly running pdaXii13! Now trying Angstrom ...

  17in MacBook Pro: lovely xxxx
Psion NetBook: a pda that I am not always updating and reflashing... might
actually get some work done!
SE P990i: with UIQ3. If I had paid the retail price it would have been a let
down. But I got it cheap and unlocked, with a 2GB memory stick for free, so
hey! Having wifi on your phone is not to be missed. Would love it to really run
linux!
Pocket Loox 720: used for designing ebooks. Just don't like it though!
