But the desktop rotator applet seems to work at a device-independent level. Maybe I should look at the source of that to see if there's a way to set it up. I notice too that /etc/X11 has no XF86Config or xorg.conf files, and that the 'Xfbdev' server is what runs, so possibly there's a way to set up a bigger virtual screen using that. I'll have to research Xfbdev I guess, so if I come up with anything, I'll report it back to this thread.
