Hello, I run a custom kernel from handhelds for the rx3000 (armv4) and use the angstrom feeds for ipkg updates.

Hooray - everything works pretty well and we are considering bringing the rx3000 sources over to the angstrom distros, once we have a platform mentor.

My question is how does angstrom distribution prioritize the packages it includes in the feeds?

For example I see there is wxWidgets has recently been added, when, then could I expect wxPython (python bindings) or perl bindings for example.

Another package I would like to try is minisip, a sip based VOIP package. There was a build provided for the familiar distribution (also ipk). I have contacted the mailing list of that project, but I don't understand where the cooperation is from source maintainer and package maintainer?

Could there be some information on the distros site about how the packages are selected and what cooperation is required or how this generally works? Most projects I have worked on have a drop and run procedure, is it the same in open source too?

Could there be a "suggest a package" on the wiki or feed browser about suggesting a package for the feeds. or is the Mailing list the best place for it.

I also find it really difficult to get information about writing ipks for a given source package. Are there any links to how this package format works?

Thanks for reading this and considering your response.
