We have reports about same behaviour on SL-C700. Seems there is problem with
insufficient memory for kexec'ing kernel.

Can you move original kernel on SD to /boot/zImage.backup and place
kexecboot's zImage instead? Just to check that kexecboot can kexec that
kernel. This should work and you will get kexecboot menu again. Please
report any outcome.

kexecboot provide root, rootfstype and rootwait tags for kernel. But you can
override this in boot.cfg by APPEND directive.
