This is open for discussion. In my eye's it's best practice to use the 
controller for everything. That's how its gonna be in 2.x too. (A 
directives controller is a "allowed" place for DOM manipulation too!)
However, sometimes, when you are doing something out of the ordinary, you 
might need a link function anyway.
