What are our candidates doing?
They're working hard, I know that much.
Take Dan Foster, for instance. Dan is running for the 78th district of the
House of Delegates (Chesapeake, mostly). A political newcomer to the
Libertarian Party, Dan has nevertheless stayed on-message and talked
consistently about getting government out of our lives.
Dan and his volunteers have taken advantage of every outreach opportunity they
could. Last weekend was a good example. Here are his notes to me on how he
spent his weekend:
"My campaign team and I worked 18 hours straight on Saturday between supporting
our candidates at an 8am TLP meeting, delivering road signs and running the
Libertarian booth at the state fair. Got home about 2am, took on about 3-4
hours of sleep and got up at 7am to run my campaign booth at Chesapeakes Bark
in the Park on Sunday, October 6. There were supposed to be approximately
10,000 people passing through over the course of 5 hours! I and and another
campaign team member heavily promoted my campaign for House of delegates, and
simultaneously promoted Sarvis' campaign for governor. Needless to say, I
slept well that night!"
As Dan relates, our candidates are all taking a lot of time out of their busy
lives, all to bring our message of liberty to as many voters as possible.
We Libertarians are spread out all across Virginia, I know. Not all of us can
help these fine people walk precincts or help man outreach booths. But we can
let them know we have their backs by donating.
Election Day is barely more than 3 weeks away. Our candidates have spent
hundreds of hours promoting our message of liberty, harmony, and abundance.
