WISPA would like to welcome PDMNet as our newest Vendor Member. Paul McCall has been a WISP Principal member for some time and is now upgrading to Vendor Member Status. I hope our members support PDMNet and as a WISP myself, I know I am always looking for good repair centers.
basiclogo.jpg PDMNet is a fellow Canopy WISP that has been using Canopy since early 2002. Since the beginning, PDMNet has established itself as a leader in consulting to other Canopy WISPs, helping them understand the technology and its applications. Last year, PDMNet ramped up a full service Motorola Canopy REPAIR CENTER for fellow WISPs to get their SMs, APs, and BHs repaired cost-effectively, quickly, and correctly. As a WISP ourselves, for many years PDMNet struggled with the repair options that were available to WISPs for Canopy modules. Either the work is inconsistent, slow and unreliable, or it was very expensive. Each PDMNet repair technician has gone through intensive training on the Canopy modules, to be able to properly test, diagnose, and repair many of the failures that occur. PDMNet took the time to streamline internal processes, and documentation to raise the bar on what can be expected from a Canopy Repair Service Center. Normal repair rates are $ 200 for an AP or BH (any frequency, any version) and $ 110 for SMs. WISPA members receive a $ 20 discount per AP/BH and $ 10 discount per SM. So, the cost for a WISPA member for repairs is $ 180 for AP/BH and $ 100 for SMs. There is no charge for the module(s) are not repairable. Each unit goes through extensive real world tests during the repair process to ensure that the WISP gets radios ready to put back in the field. All units that are repaired have a 6 month warranty on the issue repaired. Due to requests, PDMNet also has a 50/50 plan, where the customer incurs no out of pocket costs for repairs, and the customer keeps 50% of the repairs and PDMNet keeps 50% of the repairs. PDMNet will also do an outright purchase of WISPs failed Canopy modules if the WISP doesn't want to be bothered with the repair process. Repair times are typically 7 to 10 days, usually less. PDMNet also offers emergency repairs for an additional fee. A Repair Merchandise Authorization number is assigned to each customer batch for tracking purposes. PDMNet has a simple information spreadsheet for the WISP to fill out with a description of each module being returned, if possible. PDMNet is excited to be joining WISPA and offering discounts to its members. Contact information: Paul McCall, Pres. PDMNet, Inc. 658 Old Dixie Highway Vero Beach, FL 32962 772-564-6800
