These Notices are being provided for informational purposes only. The Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and the Department of Agriculture's Rural Utilities Service (RUS) announced its second series of public workshops connected to the application process for the second round of broadband grants and loans under the Recovery Act. As in the first round, NTIA and RUS gave extensive consideration to the workshop locations: they selected locations representative of rural and urban needs, as well as a diversity of regions, populations, topographies and city/metropolitan-area sizes. They also considered the travel needs of attendees. The workshops are free and open to the general public, the locations can be found at: http://www.broadbandusa.gov/workshop.htm For any assistance with the Broadband Initiatives Program (BIP), the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP, please contact the Broadband USA Help Desk by phone at 1-877-508-8364 or by email at [email protected] Broadband Match - at http://match.broadbandusa.gov - allows potential applicants to find partners for broadband projects, helping them to combine expertise and create stronger proposals. For example, a broadband infrastructure provider might partner with community institutions, like universities, hospitals, or libraries, on a proposal to bring high-speed Internet service to their facilities. Any company, nonprofit, state or local government or expert individual interested in applying for funding under NTIA's Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) or RUS's Broadband Initiatives Program (BIP) can post a profile, including key information about the contribution they can make to a broadband project, as well as search for other stakeholders whose skills and resources match their needs.
