Registration is now open for the FISPA/WISPA Joint Service Provider Summit in Orlando on March 23, 24 and 25, 2011. Our two trade associations have a lot of synergies between us. Many wireless providers want to learn more about MetroE, Fiber Connectivity and other hard-line circuit opportunities, while many of the legacy hard-line ISPs that belong to FISPA are wanting to learn more about wireless technologies. Therefore, we felt it was appropriate to bring all of our hardworking ISP members from both trade associations together this spring so that we can learn from each other and the speakers on the agenda.
Vendor invitations just went out yesterday. If you are a vendor and did not receive an email from me, please reach out and I will bring you up to speed on the sponsorship, booth and tabletop opportunities. Space is limited so please do not procrastinate. We have selected the Sheraton Orlando North as the venue for this event. Jim Hollis, the Executive Director of FISPA, visited the site last week and has approved it for use for this summit. We have negotiated a rate of $99/night for single and double occupancy. The rate is $109/night if there are 3 or 4 in a room. We do have minimum room commitments so if at all possible, please stay at this hotel. There are other hotels in the area however. These rates are available 3 days before and after our event, in case someone wants to extend the trip to take in DisneyWorld or attend the CTIA Wireless Convention. The CTIA Convention is being held March 21st - 24th in Orlando. You can register for this event at http://fispawispaspring2011.eventbrite.com. Early registration ends on February 15th and I suggest if you plan to attend to get your flight booked and hotel room reserved early as March is a busy period with Spring Breakers flocking to Florida to get that first taste of warm weather. WISPA is looking forward to working with FISPA on this event and we hope to make it as successful as our Summer Regional Meeting was in St. Louis. The agenda and speakers are still being defined. If you wish to speak at the conference, please send me an email. Look over the suggested topics and see if there is a panel that you wish to contribute. We are also open to new topics that have not been thought about yet but our members wish to learn more about. There are three scheduled workshops on Wednesday, March 23rd that will last 3 hours each. These workshops are an additional $40 each per attendee. We are hiring expert instructors to run these workshops and the information will be very valuable. The workshops are CLEC Strategies, Turning Wireless Magic Into Wireless Science and a VoIP and Hosted PBX Workshop. Get signed up early and earn your discounts before it is too late. Space is limited for both attendees and vendors. This is not an event to wait until the last minute to decide to go. Check back to the registration website regularly to check for vendor participation and agenda updates.
