I guessed as much - I've used echo to create the property file - is there an alternative way?Not as a general solution. But perhaps what you're trying to do is something that doesn't necessarily need properties being passed back up?
I've personally never had a build scenario that required <script> or for properties to be passed back up, so its hard for me to identify. Could you describe your situation in more detail?
