The explosion occurred early Wednesday as the train traveled from the town of Ochamchira to Psou, said Ruslan Khashig, press spokesman for the president of Abkhazia. Shortly before, an explosion occurred in the station at Ochamchira, a port on the Black Sea, but there were no injuries. An investigation has been opened. A statement from the state security service of Abkhazia accused Georgia of organizing the blast. Georgia immediately denied any involvement in the explosion. Russia's Foreign Ministry issued a statement Wednesday demanding that those who organized the explosion be caught and severely punished. The Ministry statement said the terrorist acts would only add to the mounting tension in Georgia over Abkhazia, and stressed that the Abkhaz problem could only be solved through political dialogue. Abkhazia, a lush province on the Black Sea, won de facto independence in 1993 after a two-year war against Georgian forces. Some 300,000 Georgians fled Abkhazia and the region has remained tense for much of the past decade. /The Associated Press/ __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
