Parliament has authorized the government to make Albania's airspace, land routes and territorial waters available for use by anti-Iraq forces, its press office said Tuesday. Albania was among the first countries in Europe to support the United States in its policy toward Iraq. In late January, Prime Minister Fatos Nano sent a letter to President George W. Bush, pledging the country's "total and unconditional" support. In a resolution passed late Monday, parliament said it "supports efforts by the international coalition toward a diplomatic solution, but also (to use) force if deemed necessary", reported zawya.com.
