1. I have nothing against a downloadable plugin. But for the languages I work 
with this is not available at the moment, and a web-based service is in any 
case a low-level intrance to using the MT tools. So this is not an either-or 
question, it is a both-and (and for my languages the only option). Thus the 
issue of confidentiality is irrelevant to the discussion I want to raise here. 
Google Translate is also not available for most Apertium language pairs, and in 
any case irrelevant.

So, you misunderstand me. I do not want to “make the OmegaT plugin a web 
service “, I want to make the OmegaT plugin __available as__ a web service.

And at the moment, the way of making it work is to make it avalable as a web
