Comments to Per: 1. I have nothing against a downloadable plugin. But for the languages I work with this is not available at the moment, and a web-based service is in any case a low-level intrance to using the MT tools. So this is not an either-or question, it is a both-and (and for my languages the only option). Thus the issue of confidentiality is irrelevant to the discussion I want to raise here. Google Translate is also not available for most Apertium language pairs, and in any case irrelevant.
So, you misunderstand me. I do not want to “make the OmegaT plugin a web service “, I want to make the OmegaT plugin __available as__ a web service. > > Finally, I agree with your reflection: >> I am quite >> satisfied with the Apertium+Omega-T platform as it is, the only problem >> is that it does not work for the languages I work with. And at the moment, the way of making it work is to make it avalable as a web service __as well__.
