After resurrecting my Apple II and IIe I decided to try to use the II as a terminal to talk to a piece of electronic test equipment on my workbench via RS-232. I'm using a Videx PSIO serial/parallel card whose specs say it can communicate up to 19.2K. When I attach it to the test gear (a HP Z3801A GPS based 10MHz frequency reference) I can't get the two to talk to one another correctly at speeds greater than 2400 baud. Anyone have any experience in this regard? (BTW, my Mac IIsi has no problem talking to the test gear at 19.2K even though the serial port is really RS-422; don't try it though with the serial port of a Mac Classic II as I've lost two serial I/O ports when leaving the connection plugged in!).
Also have a knock-off stand alone serial card that doesn't want to talk at all, but that's another story for another day.
