The IIgs is a nice machine, but I think that it is best used as a souped up IIe since you have most of the required hardware built in (serial and floppy controllers), more memory, and a faster processor. Oh, and you can hook up a better keyboard and have all of those free expansion slots too! As for using GS/OS: I have always felt that it is too slow to support the GUI. Some people will differ, but they are probably fond of the graphics and sound capabilities or play a lot of games (the games I saw seemed to be fast enough, but they didn't rely upon the desktop environment either). What do I use: a IIgs and a IIc+.
