The machine that I am using now (and have trouble with) is the ROM 01 version. I had drive troubles with my ROM 03 model (which ended up being a bad drive controller). The problem I seem to be having with the ROM 01 is the crashing (although I do miss having 2 MB of RAM). The 1 MB Expansion card in the ROM 01 model I have now is the same one that was in my ROM 03 and I didn't experience any of these crashes when it was in the ROM 03 model. The first time it crashed was a few seconds after loading ProDOS to use the "Your Tour of The Apple IIgs disk" so I am guessing that if a RAM chip is bad that it might actually be on the logic board, not the expansion board because it happened so quickly that I don't see how it could have loaded data to the expansion card yet. Also, if it does crash then I can't soft reset it because it will crash again at the "Apple IIgs Intro screen." I do have a copy of the diagnostic program and I will see if a RAM chip (either on the logic board or the expansion board) is to blame. And then it is possible that I just got two bad IIgs's. *shrugs* :( Thanks a lot, Matt -- Apple2list is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... / Buy books, CDs, videos, and more from Amazon.com \ / <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/lowendmac> \ Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Apple2list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/apple2.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/apple2list%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
