Speaking of .gifs, I've just been trying out Kevin A. Mitchell's
GIFConverter. It converts most any image, even AOL .jpgs and Mac screen captures,
into a
variety of image formats, including .gifs that the //e can view. It even
nicely trims the resource fork down to zero, so unforking the Mac files on the //e
are fast and don't take up a hunk of drive space. About the only drawback is
having to convert the images to .gifs one at a time, but it does allow
resizing of the images, making them fully displayable on the 8-bit Apple II screens.

What does anyone else use?
