Ted, If memory serves, the MultiRam IIe is the Ramworks (I or II) -like expanded memory card from Checkmate Technology. They go into Slot-0 and perform the duties of 80-column expansion and memory expansion. They had models that had 256k, 512k and 1024k. Early versions of AppleWorks required patches to use all the memory available (much like RamWorks cards), and I think later versions of AW recognised it natively (but don't hold me to this.)
The big deal with these cards is that they had a low-cost (at the time; probably $200 or so - can you believe it??) Analog RGB add-on module, so you could get 80 columns and color from an RGB monitor. You could also make a ramdisk out of it by using special software, but it was MUCH more cumbersome than using a RamFactor or genuine Apple-branded "Slinky" type memory card. I had one of these for a while at my desk at Beagle Bros back when I did tech support, which was, hmmm, 14 years ago, so my memory is a little foggy on this card. Assuming that later versions of AppleWorks recognise this card automatically (someone help me out here???) then it is a fine card. If not, then its value is somewhat less.
