I don't know if you can draw a parallel, but look at Rich Dreher's CFFA
card. Big interest for the 1st 100 cards he made, moderate interest in
the 2nd batch of 100. For the 3rd (which I think he's planning on
building by hand again) he wanted at least 100 people to say they'd order
one. As of yesterday he only had 67 show interest.
While the demand may be there, getting the information about availability
to the existing A2 base is the problem. I run into people all the time
(we do a usergroup table for Mac and Apple II at a local computershow once
a month) who, while they own and even still use their Apple IIs, don't
know about the informational sources that are still around, and are amazed
that development is still going on, albeit minimally, for the computer.
