Another good way is to use ADT (Apple Disk Transfer). This is free software that consists of an Apple II program and a Windows program. The two programs communicate with each other over a serial link. You'll need a Super Serial Card in your Apple II, and a cable that links it to the COM1 port of your PC.
This approach only works with .DSK files of a 143K 5.25" disk image (DOS 3.3, ProDOS or Pascal). After downloading the software onto your PC and creating the physical link-up, you redirect the Apple II's input from the serial card (IN#1 or IN#2) and then transfer an ASCII file from your PC's terminal program which consists of monitor data entry keystrokes: CALL -151 300: 05 88 B0 4E etc.etc. BSAVE ADT... Once the software is up and running on both machines, you can transfer from PC .dsk file to Apple II 5.25" disk and vice versa (unprotected disks only). This isn't a step-by-step guide, but if you do a bit of googling you'll find they are out there. Martin p.s. there are free versions of Maniac Mansion and other LucasArts fan games for Wintel that you can download from fangames.co.uk - that is, if you just want to play the game and don't mind that it isn't on your Apple II!!!!! --- Doug Anderson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > It depends on the hardware you have.
