The date of publication is very important since RAM prices have declined drastically over the years. > QC's own Q-RAM GS card: > > 1-meg: 99.95 > 2-Meg: 149.95 > 4-meg: 249.95 These prices are almost certainly pre-1992, or Apple II users were being ripped off. A quick search of usenet reveals that a 4 MB 30-pin SIMM was about $120 US in 1992 (meaning that I probably paid a lot more than I recalled for the 16 MB of RAM on my 486, over $700 Canadian). I'd have to dig out my 1977 issue of Byte if you want to see silly RAM prices. If my (very foggy) memory serves me correctly, they were offering 4 or 16 kB RAM boards for about $400. > At those prices, Bill's card is, since he's using more modern RAM, a > bargain. :) I hope you're not being serious. An Apple IIgs currently has nearly no market value, and I hardly see anyone saying that it should be worth more because of 1990 prices.
