ROM 01 GS' are certainly the most common, and you can pick the CPU unit (without drives, monitor, keyboard/mouse) for cheap on Ebay. I find it humorous that almost every Apple II listed on ebay is labelled as "RARE".
I've been surprised, but as of late I've seen several Apple IIc Plus units (without monitor or accessories) go for $150+ on ebay. In numbers, those were were certainly "rarer" because they were the last model of II released. However, there's no doubt that a ROM 0 IIGS is very, very, very rare... I've seen several large apple II collections that lack a ROM 0 IIGS. If you decide to ebay that, please post the link. I am interested in seeing what it goes for.
