Yes, technically you can boot into any partition with the RamFAST for example, but a couple of points:
1. Most people don't know how to boot into other partitions. 2. GS/OS System software must be on a ProDOS partition - it will not boot on a HFS one. 3. ProDOS 8 applications must be on a ProDOS partition - they will not run under HFS, only GS/OS applications. -Jeff -----Original Message----- From: Apple2list [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, November 15, 2005 12:23 AM To: Apple2list Subject: Re: Apple IIGS & SCSI card Hi! The IIgs system software has to be installed on the first partition. <--- snip ---> The first partition does NOT have to be a ProDOS partition. I just grabbed a 44 MB SyQuest cartridge that has three non-ProDOS partitions (2 driver and 1 HFS) and two ProDOS partitions. That means that the first ProDOS partition was the 4th partition. I was able to boot into ProDOS on an Apple IIe. If it works for ProDOS on a IIe then it'll work for GS/OS on a IIgs.
