Take care when plugging disk drives into the original disk controller card (the one with two 20-pin connectors). If you plug them one row off, you will fry the disk drive's analogue board. Also do not plug/unplug a disk drive (or any controller card) while the computers are on. Oh, and do not throw a 500 Kg. rock on them. Appart from that, there's little you can do that can kill them. Apple ][s are really though machines :-) .
