Interesting. How did you solve it? As you probably have noticed in the
_basetypes.py file, we already have a different library name for
os.name=='nt' (i. e. Microsoft windows). If Mac requires yet another
library name, I'd happily add an extra if clause for that.

libaqhbci is built as .dylib but libaqbanking is not? Is libgwenhywfar
built as .dylib?

Unfortunately none of the lead developers here so far has any experience
with Mac OSX. We will happily apply any changes that you propose, but we
cannot test them for ourselves.

As for a GUI interface: Did you notice the --gtk option of moneysplash?
Would require aqbanking to be built with --with-frontends="g2banking"
though and I haven't tested it recently.
