Hi list, a problem with all these very nice offline html viewers is that they do not care about non-English texts with diacritical (8 bit) characters. If you wanted to read a Czech text you will have to install a iso8859-2 font on your DOS system... Martin Goebbel's HLIST viewer makes an attempt in this direction at least for West European code page mapping. And his program can call an external editor with a hot key. So with small documents you can insert a translation routine into the 'editor' function: it copies the html document to a temporary file, translates the 8bit characters and views the file - again with HLIST. What is really misssing is a DOS HLIST viewer that does the translation job internally. I think the Norton Commander clone CONNECT contains a fine HTML browser with code page support. But as the documentation is entirely Russian I did not succeed to configure it.
