I am already doing that. In general there is a feature in mailman to add
single email addresses to a "filter" which accepts/rejects/discards
emails. If someone is interested I can add such filter entries for
him/her that emails get passed-through if they do not want to subscribe
to that list.

You do not need an opensolaris.org account, you only have to subscribe
to the matching mailman lists.

Because it would always require to add the sender to the reply which is
considered "bad taste" in mailinglists (the lists on opensolaris.org
violate this anyway but I am not happy that this spreads more).
