Given your continued work on arcem would it be worth using the central
repository rather than many ZIP releases?  When the repo gets updated
now there will be a ton of diffs as a single big patch, possibly with a
big changelog scraped from these emails.  Starting to use it from now on
would at least stop those bigs becoming huges.  :-)

Until that repo is updated you've effectively forked arcem with anyone
else having to feed changes to you.  Since your activity may encourage
others to have a poke about again, that's a shame.  If the repo was used
again there's nothing to stop you popping up on the list and laying
claim to it for a bit;  "If you've any outstanding stuff get it checked
in because I want to do large re-work on the display code again over the
next few days".

I don't want to put an obstacle in your way that dissuades you from
continuing, I just prefer lots of isolated check-ins, even if the repo's
head turns out to be broken on some platforms for some of the time.
